PAMELA JONES COMMUNITY & EDUCATION FOUNDATION
Continuing a Legacy of service through Faith, Family, and Community

OUR HISTORY
Born and raised in Toledo, Ohio, Pamela Jones’ natural passion for people and leadership allowed her to build a powerful career as an activist, advocate, and community leader. She was far more than that. She was a Mother, Wife, Sister, Mentor, and Friend.
Pam served as a voice for her fellow students in both high school and college. That voice found a home with the Barton Hill Neighborhood Organization in San Pedro, CA. As Pamela Foster, she became known for developing partnerships with local grocers to expand the food pantry at Toberman Settlement House and working directly with Gangs and LAPD on intervention methods. As Pamela Newsom, her name was synonymous with advocacy for rehabilitated felons, the rights of 1st generation families and educational opportunities for troubled youth.
While cancer claimed her life, it did not steal her legacy. And while her name had a couple of changes, her duty never shifted. For over 35 years, she applied Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service” to every aspect of life. A Life dedicated to faith, family, and service. This foundation honors her LEGACY. We continue her work. We do it through service.
